It’s time to celebrate! You are invited to
join the art educators of Kansas at the Kansas Art Education (KAEA) 79th
annual fall professional development conference in Russell, KS. KAEA is a
growing organization and we anticipate 200-250 art and museum educators at this
years conference. You can visit KAEA’s website at www.kaea.com. Click on EVENTS, then 2014 FALL
CONFERENCE or visit the conference website at www.kaea2014.blogspot.com.
When? Exhibitors can set-up their booth Thursday, October 9th 3-5pm
then join us in Lucas, KS at the Grass Roots Museum to have complimentary
refreshments, mingle with existing customers, develop relationships with
potential customers, see some great art or sign up for a Ghost Tour at the
Garden of Eden (additional cost). Open
your booth for a full day of business on Friday
October 10th 7:30 am-
3:30 pm. Finally end your day Friday with a reception
at the Elks where vendors will be recognized for their participation and
support before the
KAEA Awards Presentation.

How do I get to Russell High
School?
Off of I70 take exit 184 N on HWY 281 towards
Russell. Follow HWY 281 about 2 miles N, you will cross old US 40 (which is at
a stop light), cont’ strait through the light (Fossil Street) to State Street.
State Street is after 7th Street before the railroad tracks. Take a
right onto State Street. The High School will be on your left, 565 E. State
Street, Russell, KS 67665
What is there to do in the
Russell area?
Fall is a fabulous time to visit the Russell
area! During this time Russell will be hosting their Annual Russell Original
Art Review (ROAR) Art show and their 2nd Annual Lil’ ROAR Student
Art Show (http://www.roarart.org/). Russell is also home to 4 unique antique
stores, many great cafes/coffee shops, stores and boutiques, most located in
the downtown area. If you are feeling adventurous, you can travel a few miles
east to Dorrance, KS and check out Granny Mae’s Pumpkin Patch (http://www.grannymaes.com/). A little further east and you will end up
in Lucas, KS, the "Grassroots
Art Capital of Kansas" (http://www.kansastravel.org/lucaskansas.htm).
If your interested in traveling back west,
you can visit Hays, KS where you can do some shopping at the mall, or hit up
downtown for some unique boutiques! They also are home to the Sternberg Museum
of Natural History (http://sternberg.fhsu.edu/).

When can I set up?
Exhibitors may set up their tables in advance
on Thursday October 9th
3:30-5:30pm in a prominent area by the conference entrance. The conference
attendees will be walking by the tables multiple times during the course of
Friday. The exhibitors will have many opportunities to interact with the
participants before workshops, after workshops, and during meals. Please let us know if you the exhibitor
would like to facilitate a workshop, so we can email you a proposal form or
go to the conference website to find the form.
Can I sell products at this
conference?
YES!
And more importantly, teacher mentioned that they WANT exhibitors to sell at
the convention. The state of Kansas requires that tax be collected on all sales
based on the tax rate at the point of delivery. Schools are exempt from tax,
however the instrument of payment, by law must be from the school (such as a
Purchase Order or district purchasing card), not a personal form of payment
from the teacher. The website www.ksrevenue.org/index.htm
might be helpful to you.
Will attendees have ample
time to spend at the exhibitor booths?
YES!
The vendor booths are located right next to the check-in tables. As the number
of our exhibitors grows, the conference attendees develop a greater interest in
visiting the vendors. We are gearing the booth hours to maximize your exposure
time.

use the term “booth” loosely. Your booth space consists of one table and two
chairs. Tables are not skirted and there is no partition between booths.

Yes! There are many ways to
reach KAEA members besides a booth at the conference! Whether you are wanting
to supplement your booth space or if you can not make it to the conference for
a booth:

Submit a conference proposal for a workshop! The proposal
form is available on
the conference website or can be
emailed to you.

Send catalogs or other brochures to be placed on a table at
the conference
for attendees to pick up (unstaffed
table - see above)
·
Supply canvas bags for conference attendees printed with
your logo (We will print
the KAEA conference logo on the reverse
side). First come first serve! Contact
conference chair to make early
arrangements.

Sponsor a meal (Your company will be announced as the
sponsor of the meal and
listed in the conference program and
website)
