Homework for KAEA Fall Professional Development Conference

Please put HOMEWORK for Fall conference and your last name in the subject line. Include whether you are taking the course for one or two credits and which Option of homework you are doing.
There are 2 options for the homework portion of the Summer Camp Course.  Choose one of the following for the 2 graduate credit hours options.
1)     Two Art Lesson Plans Inspired by two Sessions and a completed sample work of art inspired by one lesson plans.
(This can included all general presentations and individual sessions.)  This option involves the writing of two art lesson plans inspired by a workshops, presentations or from a visit to an local artist studio or gallery.  Includes all parts of a typical lesson plan: Kansas visual arts standards, instructional objectives, materials list including visuals, lesson procedures, learning activities, assessment criteria, modifications for students with special needs, and technology integration.  All parts should be complete and described in detail.  The assessment should match the standards and objectives and other parts of the lesson.  The lesson should be engaging for the targeted student population.  (25 hours of seat time)
or
2) One Art Lesson Plan inspired from one Session and a summary review of all workshop presentations, Keynote speakers & gallery visits from Oct 9-11 (all sessions) and a completed sample of artwork inspired by lesson plan.
(This can include all general presentation and individual sessions.) This option involves the writing of one art lesson plans inspired by a workshops, presentations or from a visit to an local artist studio or gallery.  Includes all parts of a typical lesson plan: Kansas visual arts standards, instructional objectives, materials list including visuals, lesson procedures, learning activities, assessment criteria, modifications for students with special needs, and technology integration.  All parts should be complete and described in detail.  The assessment should match the standards and objectives and other parts of the lesson.  The lesson should be engaging for the targeted student population.  The summary review should be formatted in chronological order of the workshops/ speakers/ gallery visits, include the presenters name, title, workshop name and a one to two paragraph overview of the presentation and how you can apply it in the classroom, inspiration you got for a lesson idea or how it benefits your professional growth.
(25 hours of seat time)

Option 3-
One graduate Credit Homework ONLY:
3) One Art Lesson Plan inspired from one Session and a summary review of all workshop presentations, Keynote speakers & gallery visits from Oct 10-11 ( Friday 7:30 am to 5pm and Saturday 7:30 to 1 pm) and a completed sample of artwork inspired by lesson plan.
(This can include all general presentation and individual sessions.) This option involves the writing of one art lesson plans inspired by a workshops, presentations or from a visit to an local artist studio or gallery.  Includes all parts of a typical lesson plan: Kansas visual arts standards, instructional objectives, materials list including visuals, lesson procedures, learning activities, assessment criteria, modifications for students with special needs, and technology integration.  All parts should be complete and described in detail.  The assessment should match the standards and objectives and other parts of the lesson.  The lesson should be engaging for the targeted student population.  The summary review should be formatted in chronological order of the workshops/ speakers/ gallery visits, include the presenters name, title, workshop name and a one to two paragraph overview of the presentation and how you can apply it in the classroom, inspiration you got for a lesson idea or how it benefits your professional growth.

A “5” on the KAEA Homework Rubric describes the targeted level of completion of the homework.  Notice that each option has two criteria sections on the rubric.
                  Notice that approximately 25 hours of homework may be required to complete the homework for two graduate credits and 15 hours of homework may be required to complete homework for one graduate credit.
